Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin (dissolves in fat) that is stored mainly in the liver until the body needs it. It is essential for healthy eyes (especially night vision), early physical development and growth, and a strong immune system.

Puppies are born without the ability to store Vitamin A. They get it from their mother’s milk. Therefore, they require higher levels of this vitamin for growth compared to adult dogs.

Vitamin A also supports the immune system by aiding the production of white blood cells, which help fight infections caused by viruses and bacteria.
